Shakti Collective Performing at "One Journey" - A Festival to Honor Refugee Journeys

May 30, 2018

So excited to announce that Shakti Collective will be performing and presenting on Saturday, June 2 at the National Cathedral Lawn in Washington, DC for One Journey Festival! One Journey Festival is a FREE, day-long family-friendly celebration of the courage, culture, talents, and benefits of refugees.  In addition to being one of the sponsors for this event, Shakti Collective will be performing our Sufi music and dance set along with a fabulous musical ensemble: Rob Coltun(Guitar), Kamyar Arsani(Daf), Deepak Shenoy(Tabla), Meera Chakravarthy(Flute), and Mick Rabaa(Synth)!  Our music combines old and new, East and West, by presenting modern takes on classic Indian and Turkish Sufi songs that celebrate love and devotion to the Divine.
